Lochaber Pipe Band with a very ominous looking sky which emptied its contents not long after the start of the race!
Very belated write up and a couple of snaps from the start of the race, Ian successfully completed the challenge. I on the other hand spent quite a lot of time chatting with people in and around the Ben Nevis Inn, rather than heading up to the Red Burn to take photos at a higher altitude!
As usual we stayed at Craigallan and before leaving I took a few security shots around Loch Linnhe. At least I’d have something to show for the day. Very low cloud as you can see.
Tide on the way out at Loch Linnhe
Raining at Craigallan
We headed into Fort Bill, and said hello to lots of folk up for the race.
St Andrews Church Fort William
Time for a coffee before making our way to the race field
The runners are ceremoniously piped to the kit check area
and then they’re off
Meanwhile down at the River
Wandering up the road to the Inn spotted a couple of though provoking signs!
Pleasant afternoon for some, but the weather was troublesome and raining so hard that the pictures I took at the end, before putting the camera into a waterproof bag, were not worth looking at.
Still, lots of fun and later that evening a pleasant supper in the Loch Leven Hotel.
