Winter Hill and Great Hill – Saturday 2nd March

Not expecting any company, so arrived at Lower Barn just before 9.00am.  Clearly some sort of event on as car park was much busier than usual with walkers milling about, possibly some DoEs as well.  Wonderful conditions of bright sunshine and clear skies.  Route took me up to Pigeon Tower, Winter Hill Trigpoint, down the ramp veering off to the right to Belmont, across reservoir through farm on to Catherine Edge, Hollinshead Hall, Piccadilly, Great Hill, White Coppice, Quarries, Rivington Green and back to Lower Barn – just over fifteen miles.  Happy with that, stopped to chat with a few people on route – see below.
