Sunshine and cloud all around on Saturday’s run over the West Pennine Moors, but we were lucky and the waterproofs weren’t needed.

Instead of our usual route back along the footpath Ed took us up above the quarries where the millstone gritstone was excavated. There are three partially completed millstones two of which you can see below. Who knows why they were left uncompleted, maybe the technology changed, a fault in the rock we’ll never know.
